Saint Mary Fund Investors
The Saint Mary Fund carves out a new space in investment opportunities operating as a hedge fund open to sophisticated/accredited investors that also benefits Saint Mary Fund, Inc., a non-profit entity that exists to support the educational mission of the University of Saint Mary. The fund operates in a niche space in the markets that constrains the assets that can be effectively managed.
All investors will pay a share of budgeted expenses, expected to be less than 1.5% of fund assets annually. They will also pay a carry fee of 20% of the profits to the fund managers, which will be used for general charitable purposes of the University of Saint Mary (predominantly scholarships). Investors will have a right to request return of their capital amount with two weeks’ notice to the fund. Annually, investors will receive fund trading profits based on the percent of the fund they owned in the prior year.
